31 MARCH 2016
Those of you going to Image Expo's Spring Formal next Wednesday night will have this to look forward to: a screening of Robert Kirkman's Outcast pilot.
The Spring Formal is a real dance by the way, with formal wear, cocktails, DJs (Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie) and dancing. The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund will be highlighted too. A few tickets are left, so if you'll be in Seattle next week, think about going. Remember, Emerald City doesn't kick off until Thursday afternoon, so you have all morning to sleep in.

Reserve your parking now for Image Expo & ECCC
23 FEBRUARY 2016
I know April seems far away, but event parking is a scourge best dealt with in advance. Reserve spots now for Image Expo and Emerald City Comicon and you won't have to go crazy circling city blocks and waiting for those intense Con crowds to cross the street.

Buy your ECCC tickets before 26 February
21 FEBRUARY 2016
Only Thursday tickets are left for Emerald City Comicon. If you're still on the fence for whether you want to go or not, be aware those are half-day tickets and Thursday is going to be a comics-oriented day.
Also be aware that the ticket mailing deadline is 26 February. Buy anything after that, and you will have to pick your ticket up on site - not the worst fate in the world, but it's still nice to skip that step.
Thursday is only 20 - and as mentioned Image Expo is the day before. So if you're looking for a comics event without going to the whole Con, you could easily combine these two days into something fun.

Image Expo is ECCC's new best friend
17 FEBRUARY 2016
If you like Image Comics, and who doesn't, this pairing should really make sense to you: Image Expo and Emerald City Comicon. Hollywood Reporter says it's "the opener" - like an opening band, I guess - for ECCC 2016.
This represents a few firsts; not only it is Image's first partnership with ReedPOP, it's also the Expo's first jaunt to Seattle. It will still be an all-day event where exciting new projects get announced and special guests appear, but this is happening too: an Image Comics' Spring Formal, themed "in the style and spirit of a traditional high school dance." So... awkwardness, streamers and spiked punch?
It's happening Wednesday, 6 April, a day before ECCC kicks off. And it's worth noting that while Saturday and Sunday are sold out at Emerald City, Thursday and Friday ECCC tickets are still available. So you could attend Image Expo and 1.5 days at ECCC and make a fairly good trip of it.
Tickets are on sale now. Don't wait too long.

Image Expo tickets are on sale now
19 MAY 2015
Image is rolling into San Francisco with another Expo on 2 July. This year's guests include Robert Kirkman, Greg Zucka, Brian K. Vaughan and others, and will take place at the Yerba Buena Arts Center.
Why you want to go if you're local: these expos typically announce a lot of upcoming new books, partnerships and products, and are generally a fairly entertaining event.
Why you shouldn't stress about missing it if you're not local: because it's mainly about announcements that you're going to hear anyhow, even if you're sitting at your kitchen table in Barcelona. Image holds this expo ahead of SDCC so they don't have to compete with the other 12,000 new book/show announcements that come out of the Con.

Image Expo will be at Comic-Con
7 JULY 2014
As mentioned previously, Image has been holding its own expos in addition to having a presence at San Diego Comic-Con. They usually break major announcements there, a smart strategy since they don't have to compete with all the other Con news.
This year, however, they're holding Image Expo at the Hilton Bayfront on 23 Wednesday. It starts at 2 pm, making it highly convenient for anyone with a Preview Night badge. While members of the press and comic retailers will get complimentary tickets, a few fans will receive free passes as well - more news on that to come.
What you can expect to find: "very special surprise guest creators and even more exciting Image Comics announcements." But even if you can't make the event, you can still visit Image's booth (#2729) during Preview Night for exclusive releases and creator signings - and further details on the Expo announcements will be parceled out over the following days.
I'll post details on how to win tickets when that's announced.
