Support LGBTQ with a cool ECCC shirt

We all know t-shirts are an essential component of the Comicon experience. And if you caught ECCC's latest email, your eye may have spotted a rather vivid shirt not currently available on the merch page.

That would be the rainbow t-shirt above. These shirts will be available only at ECCC and some of the proceeds will go to Lambert House in Seattle. Essentially you can celebrate ECCC, show off your LGBTQ pride and help people who need it all at the same time.

While the shirt will only be sold at the Con, any shirts left over will be put online. But if you don't want to risk waiting, you can still get Thursday, Friday and Sunday tickets and pick one up yourself.

I know we're all headed into a 4-day holiday weekend, so here's a quick reminder before you go: place your order now for any Comic-Con hats, shirts or tikki idol mugs. The chance to buy online and pick up at SDCC ends on Wednesday, 5 July, at noon PST.

Some items do sell out, so if you have your heart set on something, it's best to get it now. You can order right through your Member ID account, which has a new "Merch" tab.

I would also take a close look at the shirts before you buy; the above picture makes the darker shirts look like a black velvet painting from the 1970s, but the actual cotton seems to be not quite as black.

 
You can pick up your stuff at the Pacific Ballroom in the Marriott right next to the Con. You don't need to have a badge for the day you pick it up, but you do need to show your badge or barcode confirmation. In other words, if your badge is for Thursday, you can swing by Wednesday and collect your order. You'll need a photo ID and the printed order receipt.

Picking up a new commemorative t-shirt is always a good ritual for your annual San Diego pilgrimage - and these are definitely cooler than the usual Wookie, Batman and Daryl Dixon shirts you see hanging up at every Con. Plus they make great gifts for your friends stuck at home.

CCI has shared the official t-shirt designs for SDCC 2015. We have: The Flash, the Toucan reading a comic book, the Toucan levitating over nighttime San Diego, and the usual Comic-Con shirt. And there's also a Comic Arts Conference shirt.

 

Of note: the SDCC merch store has moved to the 3rd level of the South Tower at the Marriott Marquis (first-timers, this is right next door to the convention center and easy to access.)

 

The deadline for pre-ordering is Monday, 29 June.

Official San Diego Comic-Con t-shirts are out

Above are the 3 officially licensed Comic-Con shirts. No real surprises here but there are 2 other shirts for sale: a Comic Arts Conference shirt and a Comic Book Legal Defense Fund shirt that has Bone holding a flag with the saying, "Free Speech is Patriotic."

Yes, you can pre-order these. At this point, I think you can pre-order everything. You do have to physically attend the Con to pick them up, however.

If you feel anxious about them selling out, that is. This applies only to official Comic-Con t-shirts, which come in four flavors this year, and the pre-sale ends on 11 July at 5:00 pm PST.

To be clear, your shirts won't be shipped to you. You have to pick them up yourself at the Marriott Marquis in the Santa Rosa Room.
