More special guests for SDCC

5 more special guests have been announced for San Diego Comic-Con and they are....

Hugh Howey - author
Scott McCloud - writer, artist
Luis Royo - illustrator
Jillian and Mariko Tamaki - writer and artist, writer

Have you noticed anything different about 2015 special guests compared to the special guests of yore? I'll tell you what it is: they're more diverse. I remember when SDCC special guests were almost entirely older white men, usually with beards and wild hair and intense gazes, mixed in with a few younger white guys. Not so anymore. Now we have creators across gender and generational and racial lines and it's all pretty encouraging - because it suggests that the creative world, comics in particular, is opening up to more voices. And that means a richer spectrum of work.

Okay, I'm off my soapbox. New special guests, everyone! So far 2015 looks like it's going to be spectacular.
