Neal Adams (of Batman and X-Men fame) and Holocaust historian Dr. Rafael Medoff are screening an episode  of They Spoke Out: American Voices Against the Holocaust in room 4 at 1.

Do you love the gore, the cheesiness, the low production values of B movies? Then you will want to be in room 24ABC at 1:30 for Attack of the Killer B's. Leonard Maltin is going to add his prestigious presence to the panel to make us feel better about our low-brow tastes.

If you didn't get to see Gillian Anderson on Thursday, you'll get another shot in the X-Files Comic Book Panel from 1:45-2:45. No, the description doesn't say she'll be there - but she will. Oh, and Chris Carter too.

Kevin Keller, the first openly gay character in the Archie universe, has a panel devoted just to him at 2 in 28DE.

There's a tribute panel to Kim Thompson of Fantagraphics in 25ABC at 2.

Live demo of Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, with Darby McDevitt, Brenden Fletcher, and Todd McFarlane in 6BCF at 2.

Do you think your secretly-penned torrid fan fiction is better than most new releases? Then you should go to Why Fanfiction is Taking Over the World at 2 in 29A.

Haven has a panel in 6DE at 3. For some reason, I thought this went off the air.

Another tribute panel, this one to Carmen Infaninto, at 3 in room 4.

Snoopy gets a retrospective at 3 in 28DE.

Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada offers himself up for ruthless interrogation at 3:15 in 6BCF.

Aspiring novelists: you get two chances today to rub elbows with agents, first in From Idea to Buzz: The Team Behind a Literary Blockbuster at 2 in 23ABC and then again in Ask An Agent! at 3:30 in room 8.

Do you miss Buffy? Explore the meaning of Seasons 8 and 9 in room 26AB at 3:30.

Sleepy Hollow's pilot is shown at 3:30 in 6A.

Discuss the future of Star Trek with a panel of Treksperts at 3:30 in 24ABC.

One of my favorite annual panels: the brilliant minds at io9 share "Science Fiction That Will Change Your Life" at 6:45 in 5AB.
Drew Struzan will discuss the documentary about him in The Man Behind The Poster in room 4 at 7.
There's on a panel on women's body image and the media in 32AB at 7 that discusses "the sexualization of women in film and TV, beauty myths and mainstream media's perpetuation of them, eating disorders, and an acceptance for women of all shapes and sizes in the entertainment industry, while inspiring others to get out there and live their best life." I don't have a problem with this, but the lack of any geeky tie-in at all points to how mainstream the Con is becoming.
Banshee is at 7:15 in 6A.
Hall H and Ballroom have their nightly playback, sans footage, in 25ABC again at 8.
Spike and Mike's Twisted Gauntlet of Animation is at 9:30 in 6BCF.

This is a non-big-room day for me; your mileage may vary. Obviously Hall H is going to drive attendees into a frenzy and I can't even imagine when that line is going to begin. But there are lots of appetizing small panels as well. Still, I can't call it the monster day of the Con. We'll see what Saturday brings.

  1. How can you say this is not a big room day with game of thrones and spiderman?

    1. I get that it's definitely a big room day for other people. I meant that it's not a big room day for me. I'd love to see GOT, Archer, Walking Dead and others but I'm not willing to sacrifice the line time involved.
