10 JULY 2014
In our flush of excitement over daily programming, it's important to note that the complete Comics Art Conference schedule is up as well.
CCI describes this as "a leading academic gathering focusing on comics in the nation." Topics like Common Core, the business side of the industry, race, gender and global concerns are discussed in the context of the comic book medium. It's not just for brainiacs (although I'll admit I have no idea what the "EthnoSurreal" is) but it does offer an intellectually chewy alternative to panels that are more about upcoming products and flashy trailers. Anyone involved in education, art, writing or human services will probably find at least one panel of interest.
