The first contest for Comic Con 2013 - and it's good

Yes, really. There's already a contest  for two badges to San Diego Comic Con 2013, complete with plane tickets and hotel. (It actually began back in July, before this year's Comic Con, but I didn't discover it until now.) How serious is this contest? So serious it has its own domain: comiccontrip.com. That, my friends, is a contest you can count on. And the runner-up prize is $1500. 

So who has organized such a generous contest? Sideshow Collectibles. (Oh and that $1500 is their gift certificate. But still.) 

Here's what you win:

• Two three-day admission passes to 2013 San Diego Comic-Con

• Two roundtrip economy class airline tickets to San Diego

• Three night hotel stay

• Geek swag prize pack provided by Think Geek

• VIP Honor Guard escort by the 501st Legion: Vader's Fist (no idea)

• Sideshow Collectibles 2013 Comic-Con Exclusives designated for 2013 SDCC event

The deadline is 30 April 2013.

Here's the most intriguing part of the contest: the notice that "Sideshow Collectibles will notify the potential winners via e-mail that they may have won (subject to fulfillment of the terms and conditions of the giveaway) between May 6th - 10th, 2013!"

What does that mean, "may" have won? What denotes a "potential winner" from every other contestant? It's all very mysterious, given that you merely supply your name, email address and phone number to win - there's no test of skill that I can see. 

So there it is, the first contest for San Diego Comic Con 2013. You must be 18 to enter, but - this is nice - international fans can enter too, which isn't always the case with these contests.
