As you all know, it's believed that a group of people made or obtained fake Hall H wristbands and used them to gain access to panels - leaving legitimately wristbanded attendees shut out after waiting for 20 hours or more. CCI would understandably like to get to the bottom of this. If you saw, heard or know anything, please email me at email@example.com or contact CCI directly.
People who traditionally skip Hall H may consider this a trivial matter, but it's not. Many attendees invest considerable time and money traveling to SDCC specifically for Hall H. They were robbed.
We have a great community - hopefully we can come together and share what we know. Please ask your friends if they observed anything as well. Thanks.
Are we sure these other wristbands are real? Just asking because it souunds like maybe comic con screwed up the number they handed out.ReplyDelete
I don't think anyone knows for sure, though people report seeing them. Whether they are or not, CCI will want to understand what happened last weekend.Delete
I would think there would be CCTV footage available for the authorities to see. What happened with the fake wristbands is an anomaly for Comicon. Fake badges themselves have been around for years. But the fake wristbands are something new. If Comicon doesn't address this issue head on, there might be illegal attempts in the future. But the question is why did the fake wristbands come on so suddenly. Is it because the ones who received the fakes were also the ones who made them? They were able to blend into the background under the guise of just being another attendee?ReplyDelete
Dunno. Hopefully someone will base a French heist film on the whole thing and show it at the next IFF. It's just so absurd.Delete
