So thirsty: the official beer of ECCC is here

24 FEBRUARY 2016

No doubt the most burning question on your mind regarding Emerald City Comicon 2016 is this: what kind of beer will you be drinking? And now the answer is here. Fremont Brewing will quench your thirst with "Dark Heron" as the official ECCC beer.

What we know about your favorite new beverage: it's an "expressive IPA with experimental, unreleased hops that blend with Mosaic and Chinook hops and lock arms with malted barley and a bit of oats to create the perfect flavor."

You'll be able to buy this beer on tap at the show but also in bars and restaurants throughout Seattle AND in regional grocery stores. So even if you didn't get an ECCC ticket in time, you can drink like you did.

Fremont Brewing owner Matt Lincecum said, "Fremont Brewing is proud to partner with Emerald City Comicon for this year's Official Beer. Like ECCC, Fremont is dedicated to a creative vision, committed to quality, and a little bit weird." Who doesn't like the sound of that?

The beautiful label art was created by comic artist Justin "Moritat" Norman who "crafted the bold spirit of Dark Heron to embody the modern heroine." So if you always thought you were too refined to turn your empty beer bottles into tiki torches or steampunk goggles or xylophones, think again. These will be way too pretty for the recycling bin.

You can RSVP now for the official Dark Heron launch party on 9 March at the Fremont Brewing Urban Beer Garden at 1050 N. 34th Street.
