This is shaping up to be an odd Con. It's low key and yet more tense than usual. Does anyone else feel it?
Anyhow. As some of you have probably discovered by now, anyone with four single-day badges now has one four-day badge (follow that?) and you only need to make one trip to pick it up. Hallelujah. You don't need to do anything; it will be waiting for you when you go to pick up your first (and now only) badge.
This only applies to people with four single-day badges - Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you only have a Friday and Saturday, for instance, you're out of luck. You still need to pick up two single-day badges.
Onto Preview Night. I skipped the pilots, and haven't yet heard any raves or pans. Nor I have heard of any traffic jams like last year around Town and Country. (If I'm wrong, correct me.) What I have heard: excitement over Dredd and Pacific Rim, skeptism toward The Hobbit, lots of complaints about the Hall H line, and a general free-floating cynicism. Maybe it's the Twilight fan's death, or the onset of Mercury Retrograde, but something in the air seems off.
Hopefully tomorrow Comic Con will kick off in a better spirit.
